Why we love this piece

Art gives something, every day. If you love it, it will transform your house into a home filled with your memories.  Prints are a great way to do this. They make a statement in your home and have something to say.

This is an original watercolour by Robyn. This is an exclusive opportunity to own one of these gorgeous artworks. Once these are sold, they will not be available again.

Product Description

They watched as she thumbed through The Cake Book. It was one of the best parts of it being your ‘day’, your birthday.

“Can I have the hungry-caterpillar-and-all-the-food-cake please… or?”

She dithered about choosing that or the princess cake, with the severed Barbie on the top. The other kids watched on rolling their eyes, as if they didn’t take their time in delicious indecision each year when it was their day. When each year they had their turn choosing the turtle, or the frog, the car, truck, or other faux wheeled option.

Oh, the agony of the decision.

Their kitchen was the heart, with its easy clean tabletop, littered with life until the end of the day when it was wiped clean and left clear for the next day’s demands.

The longed-for cake would be placed on that tabletop in front of the one whose day it was. They would all sing, tunelessly for the most part, what they lacked in talent they made up with enthusiasm and joy.

On a 190 GSM archival paper from original artwork by Robyn Beeston. Printed in Australia. Each print comes with a story to share with the ones you love.

About Robyn

The story telling artist.

I am a maker; I get restless if I don't make something and I believe, someone, somewhere is making everything, so why can't l

I didn't do art at school; didn't believe I had that talent. I learned this story was not true in the early 1990's and have been creating art ever since.

In 2019I started a 100-day project which took my art practice to a new level of discipline and meant I had to show up every day with purpose. I enjoy humble subjects, simple items and things from our homes, and the world. In 2020 I started telling the story. In 2023 there came a book. My passion is storytelling through words and images.
