Why we love this piece

Art gives something, every day. If you love it, it will transform your house into a home filled with your memories.  Prints are a great way to do this. They make a statement in your home and have something to say.

Product Description

Flower Show celebrates the perfection of natural beauty often in a single bloom. That single bloom is enough. It is replicated by using the

same conical flask across the amazing variety of natural beauty that we have around us all the time in backyards, in neighbourhoods and of

course in specialist floral outlets.

This exhibition was originally inspired by the annual Maclean flower show and the willingness of Sonya Hayes to share with me some of the

fruits of her own amazing award-wining garden. Thank you Sonya!

I am often asked about process. I chose the conical flask for its simplicity and its multi-purpose use, including in science labs across our

schools. During the course of the year, as seasons changed, so did the opportunity to choose different subjects, from Australian natives to

the brightest of seasonal blooms. The beauty of the subject is transferred across to the canvass through a mix of colour, shadow and light.

The challenge is of course replicating that natural perfection.

About Lisa

Lisa Ridgway has a background in textile design and graphics and has been painting in oils and watercolours for over ten years. Lisa spends a great deal of time in the Northern NSW coastal town of Yamba where she has family and finds inspiration for much of her work.

Aside from her art, Lisa is passionate about food, cooking and in particular baking. Her daughter, Katie @sagewithkatie is a skilled chef who has worked in prestigious Sydney restaurants and mother and daughter often collaborate. They love exploring farmers markets, especially in Yamba where they connect with local farmers and fishermen.

Lisa has studied painting for over 10 years and now focuses on still life, capturing scenes of entertainment, seasonal produce and drinks. She finds joy in beautiful food and loves bringing together friends and family.

Lisa was a finalist in the Artists of Mosman 2023 and Gosford Art Prize 2023. She has sold her works at various venues as well as through her instagram and Website.

Last year, Lisa’s work sold out at Melbourne’s Affordable Art Fair and she held her first solo show ‘Seafood’ at Belinda’s Store in Yamba (@belindastore). In 2024, she presented Lisa’s Cocktails at the same venue.
